Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a CAMHS forensic low secure service supporting young females. This role offers a highly specialist environment, working with complex cases requiring structured, trauma-informed and risk-managed care.
The service is a 10-bed low secure unit with a focus on rehabilitation, safeguarding, and long-term recovery. A full time consultant is already in place – this role will be a supporting role offering combination of on-site and remote working, with flexibility in how sessions are delivered.
Salary: FTE c.£180,000 (pro rata around £72k)
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – CAMHS Forensic
Hours: Part Time – 15hrs/0.4 (flexible, hybrid working available)
Setting: 10-bed female CAMHS low secure unit
Location: Stockport
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Provide specialist psychiatric input to the MDT
- Support clinical decision-making and care planning
- Contribute to risk assessments and case reviews
- Offer remote and on-site clinical support
- Participate in multidisciplinary discussions
- Assist with complex case formulation
- Support service development initiatives
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:
- GMC registration with licence to practise
- CCT or equivalent experience in Psychiatry
- Ideally Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician but consideration given to those without
- Experience in CAMHS or forensic settings
- Ability to work flexibly and remotely
