A leading FTSE 100 company is seeking an experienced Interim Commercial Lawyer to support its digital and procurement functions on a fixed-term basis. It is a fully remote position and office presence is not required.

This role will involve advising on a broad range of complex commercial matters, with a particular focus on high-value procurement and technology-related contracts.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across legal, procurement, digital transformation and commercial teams, supporting strategic initiatives in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on a range of complex commercial and procurement matters, while supporting senior legal colleagues on higher-value or strategically sensitive projects.
  • Provide pragmatic legal and contractual advice to digital, technology and commercial teams in support of operational and strategic objectives.
  • Advise on procurement activity, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex supplier and technology agreements. Procurement experience is essential for this role.
  • Support digital transformation, innovation and business change initiatives by providing commercially focused legal guidance.
  • Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including software, technology and services contracts.
  • Advise stakeholders on contractual disputes, governance matters and risk management issues.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including procurement, programme management, compliance, data protection and senior leadership.
  • Provide clear and practical guidance on legal risk, balancing commercial opportunity with regulatory and contractual considerations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of legal and compliance policies, processes and governance frameworks.
  • Promote legal and commercial awareness across the wider business through effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Escalate material legal or compliance concerns where appropriate and support effective decision-making across the business.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting commercial contracting, procurement and technology matters.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with a current practising certificate.
  • Approximately 7–9 years’ PQE gained within a commercial contracts environment, either in-house or in private practice.
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Essential experience advising on procurement contracts within a large-scale or regulated business environment.
  • Experience handling complex technology and software agreements is highly desirable.
