About the Internship:
During your 6-week internship, you will be embedded within the Tech team and supported by a small, dedicated group of mentors who will provide ongoing guidance and help shape your development throughout the programme.
You will gain hands‑on exposure to technical problem‑solving, live project work, market insights, and collaborative team‑based delivery, working on real‑time challenges and contributing to practical solutions within a fast‑paced business environment.
Alongside this, you will take part in a structured learning programme designed to build the core technical and professional foundations, covering essential workplace skills, business processes, and best practices to help accelerate your learning and development.
You will be joining one of our engineering squads, working towards delivering a final project based on an area that genuinely interests you. This could involve software engineering, automation, operational tooling, data, APIs, cloud technologies, or another technical challenge relevant to the business. You will be supported by mentors throughout the process and will have the opportunity to present your work and learning outcomes at the end of the internship.
As part of the Technology team, you will also participate in the full Agile delivery lifecycle, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives—giving you practical exposure to how modern engineering teams collaborate, prioritise work, and continuously improve delivery.
CFP aims to give you a clear, practical insight into what a day‑to‑day life looks like in a modern engineering team, helping you understand how technical decisions are made, how cross‑functional teams collaborate, and how software gets shipped safely and reliably in a commercial environment.

About you:
We’re looking for motivated and curious graduates who are eager to apply their technical knowledge in a real‑world engineering environment and gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven business.
You will have recently completed, orbe close to completing, an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, or any other related technical disciplines. You enjoy problem‑solving, learning how systems work, and applying technology to practical business challenges.
No prior commercial coding experience is required for this role. We are far more interested in your attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn than in any specific technology stack or prior industry experience.
You will ideally bring:
- A genuine interest in software engineering and how modern systems are built, deployed, and maintained.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to ask questions, collaborate with others, and clearly explain your thinking.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to take initiative, follow through on tasks, and seek support when needed.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong attention to detail, with a logical and methodical approach to problem‑solving and delivering high‑quality work
- An interest in modern engineering practices and technologies, including areas such as APIs, automation, cloud platforms, data, operational systems, or DevOps workflows.
- Genuine curiosity about the energy sector, sustainability, or the role technology plays in addressing large‑scale commercial and environmental challenges.
You do not need prior experience with cloud platforms, data engineering tools, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or GitHub workflows; however, an interest in learning about modern engineering technologies and practices is important. Throughout the internship, you will be exposed to these areas through hands‑on project work, mentorship, and day‑to‑day collaboration within the Technology team.
We also encourage applicants to share any university, personal, or self‑directed projects they are proud of, whether technical or otherwise.
Most importantly, we are looking for enthusiastic and adaptable people who enjoy understanding how things work, are eager to learn, and are excited to contribute within a collaborative engineering environment from day one.
