About the role
As a Duty Manager, you’ll play a hands‑on leadership role in ensuring the smooth running of our busy late‑night bar. You’ll oversee the team on shift, manage customer experience, and keep operations running safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Leadership – Take responsibility for the bar and floor team during your shift, ensuring excellent service, a lively atmosphere, and smooth operations into the early hours.
- Customer Experience – Lead by example on the floor, engaging with guests, resolving issues quickly, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.
- Team Management – Motivate, brief, and support the team throughout the shift, keeping morale high and performance consistent.
- Operational Control – Oversee tills, stock levels, and compliance with licensing laws and safety procedures.
- Problem Solving – Respond calmly and effectively to unexpected challenges, from staffing gaps to customer incidents.
- End‑of‑Night Duties – Handle cashing up, reporting, and venue close‑down procedures with accuracy and accountability.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a supervisory or duty management role within hospitality, ideally in a late‑night or high‑volume environment.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to lead by example.
- Confidence in handling challenging situations and making quick decisions under pressure.
- Good working knowledge of licensing regulations, health & safety, and security practices.
- A passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
