Product Manager – Insurance Technology

London (Hybrid)

We’re working with an established insurance technology client, looking to bring on board an experienced Product Manager to drive the evolution of an AI-powered platform. This role sits at the intersection of insurance operations, technology, and business strategy; ideal for someone who enjoys shaping product vision while delivering tangible improvements across complex insurance workflows. You’ll play a key role in modernising platforms, improving operational efficiency, and driving digital transformation across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the product roadmap, aligning with business goals and market needs
  • Collaborate with other Product Owners to ensure aligned and cohesive platform development
  • Monitor insurance technology trends, regulation, and competitive landscape
  • Establish and track KPIs for adoption, efficiency, and business value
  • Partner with senior leadership to ensure product direction supports strategic objectives
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and user workshops across multiple stakeholders
  • Engage with external partners, vendors, and integration providers
  • Present product updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Define and prioritise user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements
  • Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and releases
  • Make decisions on feature prioritisation, trade-offs, and technical debt
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations to internal and external audiences
  • Ensure the platform supports end-to-end insurance workflows (policy lifecycle, underwriting, etc.)
  • Apply strong understanding of insurance data models and operational processes
  • Drive improvements in quote-to-bind ratios, straight-through processing, and efficiency

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager with at least 3 years in insurance technology – essential
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations, including underwriting and policy lifecycle
  • Experience with business process modelling and transformation initiatives
  • Exposure to core insurance platforms (e.g. Duck Creek, Guidewire, BPA or similar)
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, able to bridge technical and business audiences
  • Experience working in Agile environments (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps)

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Insurtech trends (AI/ML, automated underwriting, digital distribution)
  • Experience with API-first architecture and system integrations
  • Understanding of cloud-based platforms (SaaS/PaaS)
  • Familiarity with insurance data standards (ACORD, ISO)
  • Exposure to actuarial concepts and rating models
  • Professional insurance certifications (e.g. CPCU, AIC)
