QHSE Manager

QHSE Manager – Manufacturing Environment | Bedfordshire

An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental processes within a fast-paced production environment.

This is a hands‑on role focused on maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement and embedding a strong QHSE culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and continually improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 standards
• Lead internal audits, corrective actions and management reviews
• Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints and warranty issues
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Whys, Fishbone and FMEA
• Monitor quality metrics including defects, rework and returns
• Develop and maintain Health & Safety procedures in line with UK legislation
• Conduct risk assessments and oversee safe systems of work within a manufacturing environment
• Lead accident and incident investigations, including RIDDOR reporting where required
• Support Environmental Management processes aligned to ISO 14001
• Monitor environmental performance including waste, emissions and energy usage
• Produce QHSE reports and ensure documentation and compliance records are maintained

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous QHSE management experience within manufacturing or engineering
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and Health & Safety compliance
• Experience managing in‑house quality procedures and audit processes
• Ability to carry out root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills
• Hands‑on approach with the ability to influence teams across production and engineering

Desirable

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
• ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 Lead Auditor qualification
• Knowledge of refrigeration or F‑Gas regulations
• Lean or Six Sigma experience
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
