Fire Safety Manager
Fire Safety Manager required for an NHS trust in Staffordshire. Contract available for 6–12 months and may be extended; part‑time and full‑time working patterns considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the Trust’s Fire Safety Management System in line with the HTM 05 series and best practice in hospital and healthcare environments.
- Line‑manage two Fire Safety Officers, including overseeing their professional development.
- Develop the Trust’s Fire Safety Procedures and Documents, including Fire Safety Manuals, Protocols and Drawings.
- Manage the Fire Risk Assessment programme for the estate, including delivery of the assessments and the resulting remedial actions.
- Oversee the development of Fire Evacuation Strategies, ensuring full buy‑in from departments.
- Investigate and track Fire Incidents, report on patterns and ensure appropriate lessons are learned and action taken.
- Develop and execute fire response exercises and drills in conjunction with the Trust’s Emergency Planning, Resilience and Response Manager.
Essential Criteria
- Qualified or studying to degree level in a relevant subject, or relevant experience.
- Professional registration (to diploma or corporate membership level) in a relevant fire‑risk‑related subject area, or equivalent experience and the ability to register.
- Knowledge of Fire Safety Management systems and legislation.
- Experience of carrying out Fire Risk Assessments and managing the delivery of remedial actions.
- Knowledge of risk management theory and techniques.
