If you are a compassionate and caring individual, with a strong desire to maximise the quality of life for people living in the community with an artificial feeding tube, then this could be the role for you!
Our small team is dedicated to providing expert dietetic support & advice to adults with enteral tubes in situ across the beautiful county of Cornwall.
Main duties of the job
The adult HEF dietetic caseload comprises of around 135 patients, including a wide range of clinical conditions. You will be responsible for providing a responsive & competent dietetic service, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams and other HCP’s as and where possible, to ensure a holistic, collaborative, and all-encompassing approach.
You will be expected to complete face to face, telephone or virtual assessments to gather full nutritional and other relevant information to enable you to create suitable individualised feeding regimens. Monitoring progress and making relevant adjustments depending on clinical presentation, whilst considering practicalities and other influencing factors, is key to ensuring a satisfied service user!
We strive to provide a streamlined service that meets peninsula and local HEF dietetic standards, auditing regularly to monitor and further improve where possible.
Liaising with the contracted feed company via the online registration system to place and monitor feed/equipment orders as well as linking directly with feed company nurses is an important part of the daily tasks.
Within the role there is the opportunity to develop your skills at a practical level to obtain competencies for care of feeding tubes and stoma sites as we work closely with the gastrostomy specialist dietitian.
