A Magic Circle law firm with a leading global leveraged finance practice is seeking to hire a Leveraged Finance Associate (3–6 PQE) as part of continued strategic growth within its high-performing London finance team.
You will join a top-tier sponsor-focused platform known for:
- Advising leading private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds and financial institutions on complex, high-value financing transactions
- Acting on large-cap cross-border acquisition financings, refinancings and recapitalisations
- Structuring and executing sophisticated multi-product financings, including TLB, high yield, unitranche and hybrid structures
- Playing a central role on transactions at the intersection of M&A, private capital and capital markets
- Providing commercially focused advice to sponsors, boards and senior stakeholders on business-critical transactions
- Seamless collaboration with colleagues across corporate, tax, regulatory and international finance teams
This is a team operating at the top end of the leveraged finance market, acting on flagship sponsor-driven deals where technical excellence, commercial judgement and execution capability are essential.
The Role
You will advise on a broad range of sophisticated leveraged finance matters, including:
- Acquisition financings for private equity sponsors
- Refinancings, recapitalisations and incremental facilities
- Complex capital structures, including syndicated loans, high yield bonds and unitranche facilities
- Drafting and negotiating facilities agreements, intercreditor arrangements and security documentation
- Coordinating multi-jurisdictional deal teams and managing transaction execution
- Working closely with M&A teams on integrated sponsor-led transactions
You will work closely with market-leading partners and senior lawyers on high-profile transactions, while benefiting from strong training, close supervision and early responsibility.
About You
The team is seeking strong candidates who:
- Are UK-qualified (or common law qualified) with 3–6 PQE in leveraged finance
- Have trained and qualified at a City, Magic Circle or leading international firm
- Have experience advising on cross-border leveraged finance transactions (sponsor-side experience preferred but not essential)
- Have strong technical and drafting skills across core finance documentation
- Are commercially minded and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
- Are proactive, detail-oriented and capable of taking ownership on transactions
Candidates with experience acting for private equity sponsors or working on complex cross-border financings are particularly encouraged to apply.
