About The Opportunity

As an experienced Consultancy Quantity Surveyor with several years post‑degree experience, you will bring strong reasoning skills, clear communication, and polished client‑facing capability to a team delivering nationally significant infrastructure.

You may work on short‑term localised projects or long‑term national programmes across:

  • Large‑scale Local Authority transportation and highways schemes
  • Clean energy and renewable power developments
  • Strategic water infrastructure programmes
  • Advanced facilities, science and technology estates

There may also be opportunities to contribute to major flagship civil infrastructure projects such as:

  • Lower Thames Crossing
  • King Salman International Airport
  • Dublin BusConnects

Highways experience is preferred but not essential. Strong consultancy experience and NEC familiarity are key.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver early cost estimates, cost plans, and support budget management for infrastructure projects, including:

  • Preparing and managing end‑to‑end procurement aligned to NEC principles.
  • Evaluating supplier capability, conducting negotiations, and providing accurate cost analysis.
  • Delivering value through cost engineering and commercial insight.

Qualifications

  • RICS or equivalent accredited degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • MRICS Chartered status or actively working towards it.
  • QS experience in a Consultancy environment with proven client‑facing exposure.
  • Experience in energy & power, transportation, water, highways, or wider infrastructure sectors.
  • Proficiency in delivering early cost estimates, cost plans, and supporting budget management.
  • Understanding of measurement techniques, market factors, risk allowances and preliminaries.
  • Experience managing end‑to‑end procurement aligned to NEC principles.
  • Ability to evaluate supplier capability, conduct negotiations, and provide accurate cost analysis.
  • Proficiency with CostX or equivalent measurement/estimating tools.
  • A passion for delivering value through cost engineering and commercial insight.
