Director of Information Technology

An established specialist investment firm is seeking a hands-on IT Director to lead day-to-day IT operations and manage technology improvement projects. This is an execution-focused role, ideal for someone confident in balancing operational stability, security, and practical delivery in a lean, growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee IT operations to ensure system uptime, network stability, and user satisfaction
• Act as the main contact with third-party IT service providers (Microsoft 365, Azure AD, etc.)
• Deliver IT improvement projects (infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, cybersecurity enhancements)
• Maintain strong cybersecurity controls and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (GDPR, FCA)
• Manage stakeholder relationships and provide clear communication at all levels
• Support IT oversight across the UK and Ireland, collaborating with teams in other regions

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ IT experience with at least 3–5 years in a senior or leadership role
• Strong technical skills (Microsoft 365, Azure AD, endpoint management, networks, cybersecurity)
• Proven track record managing operational delivery and improvement projects
• Experience managing vendors and engaging stakeholders effectively
• Ideally experienced in regulated environments (e.g., financial services)
