Head of Design Technology

In the heart of Kingston, South West London, an Outstanding Secondary School is looking for a Head of Design Technology for a September 2026 start. This is a permanent, full‑time contract with an attractive salary and TLR of £14,000.

The role will lead a newly invested Design Technology Department, using brand new state‑of‑the‑art equipment and a supportive Senior Leadership Team.

Job Description

• Inspire and motivate the younger generation.
• Lead and support a team of Design Technology teachers.
• Develop curriculum and assessment for all year groups.
• Collaborate with other departments and the school’s senior leaders.
• Work with new and experienced teachers, and accept ECTs for other DT positions.
• Salary: MPS1‑UPS3 + Head of Design Technology.
• Full time, permanent position starting September 2026.

Person Specification

• UK QTS or in process of gaining.
• Strong academic background (Degree, A‑Levels, GCSEs).
• Meeting the 8 Teaching Standards at a Good or Outstanding level.
• Ability to work as part of a large team of DT teachers.
• Willingness to listen to feedback.
