Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, supporting students’ academic and personal development, and fostering a positive learning environment. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse learners, including those requiring special education support, and to utilise a wide range of teaching skills such as mentoring, creative writing, and organisation. The Teacher will play a vital role in inspiring students to achieve their full potential across various subjects, including maths and journalism.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective lessons tailored to the needs of diverse learners
  • Support students through mentoring programmes and personalised tutoring sessions
  • Manage classroom behaviour to create a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Develop engaging curriculum content that incorporates creative writing, proofreading, and journalism where appropriate
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop school programmes and organise extracurricular activities
  • Utilise organisational skills to maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and lesson plans
  • Assist students with special educational needs by adapting teaching methods and behaviour management strategies
  • Foster communication skills among students through interactive activities and discussions

Qualifications

  • Relevant teaching qualification or recognised teaching certification
  • Experience in mentoring or tutoring students across different age groups
  • Knowledge of special education needs (SEN) and behaviour management techniques
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan effectively and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in subjects such as maths, creative writing, or journalism is desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate students and foster a positive classroom environment
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
