Job Description:

Epiq Counsel’s real estate client is seeking a Paralegal to support matters including legal research, document drafting, and invoice and purchase order management.

This near-term, full-time role is hybrid (4 days/week onsite) and based in the client’s London office. This contract position has the potential of going from temp-to-perm employment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or an equivalent legal qualification required.
  • Completed formal legal education or conversion course (e.g., GDL for non-law graduates).
  • Prior experience in a paralegal or legal assistant capacity within a UK law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Solid knowledge of the UK legal system, including applicable professional standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and practical manner.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and drafting.
  • Able to work autonomously—prioritizing and triaging incoming requests, exercising sound judgment on urgency, and progressing matters independently—as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Capable of balancing legal considerations with practical, commercially focused solutions.
  • Maintains discretion and handles sensitive or confidential information appropriately.
  • Comfortable using legal research tools (e.g., Practical Law) and Microsoft Office applications

Support our client on the following:

  • Provide support to in-house counsel across a wide range of matters, including disputes, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and commercial contracting.
  • Review and revise board materials, internal policies, and legal guidance documents for business stakeholders.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements such as NDAs, along with supporting documents including powers of attorney and standard terms and conditions.
  • Perform legal research on UK laws, regulations, and case law relevant to business operations.
  • Analyze facility agreements to determine whether lender consent or notification obligations are triggered.
  • Review document sets in preparation for disclosure in response to data subject access requests.
  • Support ongoing contract lifecycle and contract management processes.
  • Coordinate with external counsel, including preparing instructions and responding to information requests.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with applicable UK regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to dispute-related matters, including document review, evidence collection, and drafting correspondence.
  • Participate in internal meetings and provide practical, business-oriented legal support to non-legal teams.
  • Maintain organized legal records and ensure files are managed in accordance with internal governance policies and, where applicable, SRA requirements.
