IT Technology Project Manager GIS / Platform

Hybrid – West Sussex – by weekly travel

Role Summary

Experienced IT Technology Project Manager with a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects involving spatial data, mapping platforms, and enterprise IT systems. Combines technical expertise in GIS technologies with strong project management skills to deliver scalable digital solutions that support business operations, analytics, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of IT and GIS projects including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Manage implementation and upgrades of GIS platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and enterprise geospatial solutions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including developers, GIS analysts, data engineers, and infrastructure specialists.
  • Oversee integration of GIS systems with enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and business applications.
  • Ensure spatial data quality, governance, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage procurement and vendor relationships for GIS tools, data providers, and technology partners.
  • Develop project roadmaps, business cases, and technical documentation.
  • Track project progress using Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Deliver dashboards, mapping applications, and geospatial analytics solutions to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Facilitate workshops and gather requirements from business stakeholders and technical teams.
