Private Funds Associate (1-3 PQE) | Leading US Law Firm | London
A leading US law firm is seeking a Private Funds Associate to join its established London asset management team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of complex funds matters within a highly regarded international platform, advising sponsors, fund managers and institutional investors.
The Team:
The asset management practice is a key part of the firm’s global offering, with strong integration across its international offices. The London team works closely with colleagues in the US and Europe on cross-border mandates.
The group advises across a wide range of private funds matters, acting for both GPs and LPs across multiple strategies. The practice offers exposure to a variety of transactions and structures, providing a well-rounded and commercially focused experience.
The Role:
The successful candidate will work across a broad spectrum of private funds matters, supporting senior lawyers on sophisticated, high-value transactions.
Work will include:
- Advising on the formation and structuring of private investment funds
- Supporting on a range of investor-led and liquidity transactions
- Assisting on secondary transactions and related matters
- Working across different fund strategies and asset classes
- Advising on cross-border mandates involving international clients
The role provides strong client exposure and the opportunity to work closely with decision-makers across a range of mandates.
Key Responsibilities:
The Associate will:
- Support the structuring and execution of fund formations and transactions
- Draft and negotiate fund documentation
- Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders
- Assist in managing matters from inception through to completion
- Collaborate with international teams on multi-jurisdictional work
- Deliver clear, commercially focused advice
About the Candidate:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- 1-3 years’ PQE with experience in private funds or asset management
- Training at a leading UK, US or international firm
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail
- A genuine interest in developing within a broad funds practice
- Good commercial awareness and communication skills
- The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
