Acre: The company is rebuilding the UK’s £1.4 trillion mortgage market from the ground up with a brand‑new, end‑to‑end management system. Our platform removes administrative pain and friction from buying a home, covering everything from figuring out how much you can borrow to getting your keys. We’re driven by the voices of real buyers and our close relationships with brokers, lenders and insurers. Mortgage submissions through our platform grew 200% last year, proving we help mortgage businesses scale faster and smarter. As part of The ClearScore Group, Acre’s partnership strengthens our capacity to innovate and deliver the best mortgage and protection platform.
We’re looking for ambitious product people to join our team and transform the industry.
The Role
As a Product Manager you’ll build services that surprise and delight homebuyers, supporting them through every stage of their journey. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, design, customer success, sales and leadership to understand users, balance priorities and bring new experiences to market.
Our platform already dominates a large share of the UK mortgage market – your impact here can grow without limits. The ideal candidate has a curious, data‑driven mindset, eagerness to learn about mortgages, insurance, conveyancing and financial advice, and is passionate about creating products that truly help people.
Responsibilities
- Run a tight product development process which you continually evolve based on hard data.
- Work with stakeholders (including sales, customer success and management) to identify desired consumer experiences to invest in, based on business requirements.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps based on consumer needs, business requirements and available resources, delivering maximum value to homebuyers and the business.
- Work with the UX team to test ideas and designs with customers, validating before building and then optimising them in the field.
- Plan deliveries and prioritise work for your team using agile artefacts, ceremonies and stand‑ups.
- Coordinate with quality, delivery and customer success teams to organise and plan testing and acceptance of deliverables, including analysis and support issue management.
- Collect the right data about user behaviour to identify problems before they’re reported and track and optimise sales.
About you
- At least one year of real‑world experience in a consumer‑facing software business in a product or analysis role, or five or more years in a role that exposed you to the product process and you thought you could do it better.
- Relentlessly driven to improve the user experience and deliver outcomes for us and our brokers.
- Quick to acquire domain knowledge, becoming a go‑to expert on our product, market and customers’ needs.
- An all‑rounder rather than a specialist, enjoying varied work from detailed problem‑solving and commercial analysis to interviewing customers and collaborating with colleagues.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible, taking positive action when faced with multiple objectives in a fast‑paced environment.
- Able to leverage complex, imperfect data.
- Eager to learn, naturally curious and continually growing your own abilities while drawing on and learning from the strengths of others.
Qualities that will help you succeed
- Demonstrated product experience and attention to detail.
- Be a people person, eager to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders and peers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Agile frameworks and key supporting tools.
- Solid mathematical skills to distinguish data from noise and show how you’ve improved things.
- Ability to work with, and challenge, stakeholders to gather complex requirements and ruthlessly prioritise.
- Previous work in a startup or early‑stage, fast‑growing team or company.
- Knowledge of JIRA, Matomo, Mixpanel or similar analytics software.
What we offer
- The chance to make an impact within a FinTech uniquely positioned to transform the mortgage market.
- 25 days annual leave.
- Suite of healthcare benefits and matched pension contribution.
- Vibrant office with regular social events.
- See our careers page for more of what we offer.
We’re looking for people who will get stuck in and make a difference. Join our collaborative, entrepreneurial team that’s passionate about transforming people’s lives. If you want to be part of a team changing the way people buy homes, we’d love to hear from you.
