Job Description:

Multiple new vacancies for Test and Assembly Technicians have arisen within a prestigious Birmingham employer, at their maintenance, repair and overhaul site.

This will be a 12 month contract position, which, providing all key performance indicators are being successfully achieved, could result in a permanent contract.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, build and test hydro mechanical control systems in accordance with relevant customer, design and quality procedures.
  • Comply fully and satisfy customer expectations to the stated specifications.
  • Meet turnaround time and output targets by adopting a flexible approach within the team.
  • Apply appropriate quality assurance techniques and accept responsibility for individual and team standards.
  • Actively participate in improvement activities.

Compensation and Working Hours

The hourly rate will be £24.53 for double day shifts, rotating on a week of early shifts and a week of late shifts. Early finishes on Fridays on both shifts. Overtime is paid at enhanced rates. Payment is weekly.

Application Criteria

Applicants should have a background in fitting and/or assembly work. Candidates who have not worked in this type of environment will not be considered.

  • Practical experience in a high technology mechanical engineering business.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings / specifications.
  • Attention to detail with a methodical approach.
  • Ability to develop and learn new skills.
  • Willingness to work flexibly.
  • Ability to work well with your hands and good dexterity.
  • Demonstrable experience of micrometer & vernier measurement skills.
  • Assembly and fitting skills.
  • High level of motivation.

Qualifications Required

  • Practical experience in a high technology mechanical engineering business.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings / specifications.
  • Demonstrable experience of having used micrometer & vernier measurement tools.
  • Assembly and fitting background.
  • Engineering qualification – desirable but not essential.
