Head of History – Outstanding Secondary School – Hounslow

A forward‑thinking & leading secondary school in the Borough of Hounslow is searching for a Head of History to start in September 2026. The role is permanent and full‑time.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large History Department comprising trainee teachers, ECT, Teach First and experienced history teachers.
• Develop and maintain a robust curriculum across KS3‑5 (GCSE & A Level).
• Support and manage a diverse team of teachers, fostering motivation and high standards.
• Communicate regularly with school leadership, pupils, parents and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with MPS3 – UPS3 + TLR1b and relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Strong understanding of the history curriculum and assessment standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and the ability to manage a range of personalities.
• Outstanding expectations for oneself and fellow teachers.
