Science Teacher / Science ECT

In the heart of Barnet, an ‘Outstanding’ Secondary School seeks a Science Teacher / Science ECT for a September 2026 start. This role is permanent, full‑time.

The School offers a supportive environment with exemplary Progress 8 results and modern, creative facilities. The Head Teacher leads a team of dedicated Science teachers and values staff development.

Job Description

  • Inspire and motivate students in KS3‑5 science.
  • Collaborate with a team of Science teachers to deliver curriculum.
  • Take on TLR opportunities such as KS3 Coordinator and Pastoral responsibilities.
  • Participate in 1:1 mentoring, bespoke ECT induction, in‑house and out‑of‑house training.
  • Start September 2026; full‑time and permanent.
  • Salary: £39,571 – £59,135 (MPS1‑UPS3) plus TLR, depending on experience.
  • Located in the Borough of Barnet.

Person Specification

  • UK QTS or actively pursuing it.
  • Strong academic background in science (degree, A Levels, GCSEs).
  • Meet the 8 Teaching Standards at Good or Outstanding level.
  • Work collaboratively within a large Science team.
  • Willing to listen to feedback and grow professionally.
