DAiSY (Disability Arts in Surrey) is seeking passionate individuals to join its board as Non-Executive Directors. Founded in 2011, DAiSY is a community interest company that champions D/deaf, Disabled and neurodivergent artists across Surrey through festivals, commissions, artist networks, training and advocacy.
We are now entering an exciting new chapter — applying for charitable status and Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation funding — and we need committed board members to help guide us forward.
The Role
As a Non-Executive Director, you will serve on DAiSY’s governing body, providing strategic direction, sharing your knowledge and helping to shape key decisions. You will act as an ambassador for DAiSY, using your networks to promote the organisation and support its ambitions, while monitoring performance and safeguarding its values. This is a voluntary role, with expenses reimbursed in certain circumstances.
Time Commitment
Board meetings are held online every 2–3 months and last approximately 1.5–2 hours. Directors are also encouraged to attend some DAiSY events, such as exhibitions, performances and festivals, held across Surrey throughout the year.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We are particularly keen to hear from those with professional experience in legal practice, finance, disability arts or new technologies in the arts.
Most importantly, we want people who are passionate about inclusion and the arts, bring curiosity and enthusiasm, and are committed to authentic representation. Applications are especially encouraged from D/deaf, Disabled or neurodivergent people and those with intersecting protected characteristics.
No previous board experience is required, full support and onboarding will be provided.
