Job Description

Site Manager – Primary School – Sutton

Pay: £120.00-£150.00 per day

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Site Manager to join a friendly primary school in Sutton on a full-time basis. This is an ASAP start position and would suit someone proactive, hands‑on and confident managing the daily upkeep, safety and security of a busy school environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school premises are safe, clean, secure and well‑maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.

Hours

Monday to Friday 7:00am – 11:00am and 3:00pm – 6:00pm

Responsibilities

• Opening and locking the school premises daily
• Carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs
• Ensuring the school site is clean, safe and secure at all times
• Monitoring health and safety across the premises
• Managing contractors and overseeing site‑related works
• Conducting regular site checks and reporting issues promptly
• Supporting with deliveries, furniture movement and room setups
• Maintaining outdoor areas including playgrounds and entrances
• Responding to emergency maintenance issues where required

Requirements

• Previous site management or caretaker experience within a school or similar environment
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
• Good DIY and maintenance skills
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
• Must hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Ability to start ASAP
