Location: Blackpool, Lancashire (FY1 – FY4)

Salary: .89 per day (M1 – UPS3 equivalent)

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday (Term Time)

Contract: Temp to Perm (Long-term stability)

Start Date: ASAP / June 2026

The Role

Are you a resilient and compassionate Key Stage 2 Teacher? We are seeking a dedicated educator to join a specialist SEMH School in Blackpool.

This is a unique opportunity to escape the pressures of a 30-child mainstream classroom. Here, class sizes are capped at 5 pupils, allowing you to provide a truly nurturing, individualised, and trauma-informed approach to education. You will support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, balancing academic progress with essential therapeutic support.

Your Responsibilities

  • Creative Curriculum: Lead a small class of 5, delivering an engaging KS2 curriculum adapted to the diverse needs of your learners.
  • Classroom Culture: Create a safe, structured environment where pupils feel empowered to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Collaborative Support: Work alongside specialised Teaching Assistants and therapy teams to implement individual EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) goals.
  • Behaviour Coaching: Utilise de‑escalation techniques and emotional coaching to manage complex behaviours effectively.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory for this specialist role.
  • KS2 Expertise: A proven track record of teaching within Key Stage 2.
  • SEN Experience: Experience in SEMH or SEN settings is highly desirable. You must have robust behaviour management skills and an understanding of trauma‑informed practice.
  • Commitment: Looking for a long‑term career move (Temp-to-Perm).
  • Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential for an immediate start.

Why Teach in Blackpool?

This school is renowned for its commitment to staff wellbeing. With micro‑class sizes, you can focus on the “why” of teaching. The temp-to-perm route offers you a “try before you buy” period to ensure the school is the perfect fit before committing to a permanent contract.
