Job Description:

Overview

We are looking for several F&D Repair Engineers for a 10‑month contract. The role involves completing Fatigue & Damage Tolerance analysis and justifications for metallic and composite structures.

Key Details

  • Role: F&D Repair Engineer
  • Pay: £46 per hour (via Umbrella)
  • Location: Filton
  • Contract: Monday‑Friday, 35 hours per week, 10 months
  • IR35 Status: Inside
  • Security Clearance: BPSS

Responsibilities

  • Perform F&D analysis and compile justification reports for repair designs using approved methods and tools, working closely with Design and Static Stress engineers to develop optimum repairs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, offshore teams, and suppliers as required.
  • Lead packages of work and integrate with Design and Static Stress teams for major incidents or complex activities.
  • Develop methods and processes for repair analysis, collaborating with method experts and tool owners to enhance analysis capability of repair teams; work with NDT specialists to develop inspection processes for repaired aircraft.
  • Support the repair team on other structure perimeters such as fuselage, empennage, high‑lift devices, etc.

Essential & Desirable Skills

  • Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience.
  • Aerospace F&D engineering background.
  • Experience in F&D analysis of aircraft structures using methods and toolsets (ISAMI, GISEH) and generating technical dossiers/reports.
  • Understanding of fundamental fatigue and damage tolerance analysis methods.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations.
  • Capability to assess how repair design affects F&D of aircraft structure.
  • Ability to select and apply appropriate analysis methods to repair designs.
  • Skill to liaise and negotiate with Design, Customer Services, and suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver technically correct, timely, and high‑quality results within tight time constraints.
  • Pragmatic decision‑making based on solid engineering rationale.
