Senior Mechanical Designer – Building Services

Birmingham

Salary £60,000 + Car Allowance / Electric Vehicle

Full-Time | 08:30 17:00

25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

The Opportunity

An established and growing building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join their collaborative design team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a range of office fit-out projects, typically valued between £100k and £1m, across both CAT A and CAT B schemes.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical designs from concept through to completion, working both independently and alongside senior leadership on more complex projects.

The Role

  • Lead mechanical design on office fit-out projects from concept to handover
  • Manage your own portfolio of projects, including client coordination
  • Support senior design leadership on larger or technically complex schemes
  • Produce detailed drawings and designs using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Carry out heat loss and heat gain calculations using TAS and Hevacomp
  • Attend design and coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with UK building regulations and industry standards
  • Contribute to value engineering and design optimisation
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members

About You

  • Ideally a minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical building services design
  • Proven track record delivering office fit-out projects (CAT A & CAT B)
  • Strong AutoCAD skills
  • Working knowledge of Revit (desirable)
  • Experience using TAS and Hevacomp
  • Able to manage multiple projects independently
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
