Our mission is simple: to make world‑class strength equipment accessible to everyone, from commercial gyms and performance centres to home training spaces. We combine innovation, functionality, and style to help lifters of every level achieve their goals.
Each product is designed, tested, and refined to deliver performance without compromise. Whether it’s our award‑winning power racks, adjustable benches, or precision‑engineered plates and dumbbells, REP is known for its attention to detail, durability, and modern design.
In the UK and Europe, we’re committed to providing:
- High-performance gym equipment for home and commercial use
- Fast, reliable delivery from our regional distribution network
- Local customer support and expert advice
- Access to REP’s full global innovation line‑up
Our goal is to raise the standard for what lifters expect from their equipment, combining American innovation with local service excellence.
Our Core Values
- Think Like a Customer: We empathise with our customers; understand the ‘why’ behind every decision we make
- Progress not Perfection: We don’t let perfect get in the way of good; we are better today than we were yesterday
- Positive Attitude: Be a glass half‑full kind of person and remember to have fun
- Teamwork without Ego: We put the team above ourselves; we only win together
- Take Initiative: We drive momentum; if there is an opportunity to make us better, we want to hear it
About this Role
We are looking for a highly capable, hands‑on Senior Financial Accountant to support the Director of Finance in building and scaling the finance function for REP Fitness UK & Europe.
This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage of growth, working directly with the Director of Finance as part of a lean, high‑impact team of two. You will play a critical role in establishing robust financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks to support a rapidly expanding e‑commerce and distribution business.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environments and is comfortable without a fixed playbook. You’ll need to be hands‑on, adaptable, and ready to take on whatever is needed, navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities while delivering both strategic and operational finance outcomes, from reporting and controls to scalable solutions.
As REP continues to grow across the UK and Europe, you will be instrumental in shaping the finance function, supporting commercial decision‑making, and ensuring the business is set up for long‑term success.
What you can expect to be doing
- Own the month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review management accounts, including variance analysis and performance insights.
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls and accounting policies.
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and all statutory reporting requirements.
- Manage external audit processes and statutory filings.
Building the Finance Function
- Design and implement scalable financial processes, systems, and controls from the ground up.
- Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement across finance operations.
- Support the future selection and implementation of finance systems and tools.
- Lay the foundations for a high‑performing finance team as the business grows.
Commercial & Strategic Support
- Partner with the Director of Finance and wider business to support decision‑making.
- Provide financial insight on pricing, margins, product performance, and inventory.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, including market expansion and operational scaling.
E-commerce & Operations
- Oversee accounting for high‑volume transactions across e‑commerce channels.
- Support inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and margin analysis.
- Work closely with operations and logistics to ensure accurate stock and cost reporting.
- Support cash flow management in a fast‑moving product environment.
Tax, Compliance & Governance
- Support VAT compliance across the UK and Europe (including cross‑border considerations).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Maintain strong internal controls and risk management practices.
Hands‑On Finance Operations
- Take ownership of day‑to‑day finance activities where required (AP/AR oversight, reconciliations, etc.).
- Solve problems proactively in a fast‑changing environment.
- Act as a key point of contact for finance‑related queries across the business.
Who we are looking for
At REP Fitness, we understand that our people will shape our success and ultimately define our value to our customers. We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a pragmatic, hands‑on approach and a passion for building something from the ground up.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) — essential
- Understanding of UK GAAP (IFRS knowledge beneficial)
Experience
- Proven experience in a senior finance role.
- Experience working in small, high‑growth or start‑up environments — essential.
- Demonstrated experience building or significantly improving finance processes and controls.
- Experience in e‑commerce, retail, or product‑based businesses — highly desirable.
- Experience managing inventory, margins, and high‑volume transactional data.
- Exposure to multi‑entity and/or international operations (EU experience beneficial).
- Experience working closely with senior stakeholders and supporting strategic decisions.
Skills & Attributes
- Highly hands‑on with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and get into the detail.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguity.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to translate numbers into actionable insights.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confident communicator, able to influence and challenge where appropriate.
- Self‑starter with high levels of ownership and accountability.
- Comfortable working in a lean team with significant autonomy.
Ideal Background
Candidates may currently be working in a senior finance role within a scaling business, ideally in e‑commerce, or a product‑led environment.
Experience in businesses transitioning from start‑up to scale‑up phase will be particularly valuable.
