Conservation Officer – Frome Headwaters Project

Closing date: Sunday 7 June 2026 | Salary: £33,450 | Contract type: Permanent | Working hours: Full time | Location: Kingcombe Visitor Centre, Lower Kingcombe, Toller Porcorum, Dorchester, Dorset, DT2 0EQ

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of the Frome Headwaters Chalkstream Restoration Project.
  • Work collaboratively with farmers, land managers, partners and local communities across the Upper Frome, River Hooke and Wraxall Brook catchments.
  • Implement nature‑based solutions for biodiversity, river restoration, natural flood management and floodplain recovery.
  • Develop practical, workable solutions that support thriving river ecosystems and resilient farming businesses.

Qualifications

  • Experience working collaboratively with land managers and partners.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Good understanding of catchment management, chalkstream ecology and agri‑environment schemes.
