Responsibilities

• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control system layouts in accordance with project requirements and engineering standards.
• Undertake the design and specification of electrical components, panels, and systems, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams to integrate electrical designs with overall product architecture.
• Support prototype development, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, and review and update associated technical documentation, drawings, and BOMs.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical design or system issues during manufacturing, testing, and field service, and contribute to CI initiatives by proposing design optimisations and standardisation.
• Ensure accurate reporting of project progress and adherence to timelines.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level or above in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 4 years of experience in an electrical design role (preferably within locomotives, heavy machinery, or industrial equipment).
• Proficient in electrical CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, control systems, PLCs, and related safety standards and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet project deadlines with a positive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
