About the Role

As a Senior Drainage Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high quality drainage and infrastructure solutions across a variety of projects. You will support and mentor junior team members, from graduates to assistant engineers, while managing multiple technical tasks.

We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working. However, as a senior member of the team, you will be expected to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients, attend meetings, and carry out site visits when required.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, and contractors
  • Model and review existing drainage networks
  • Develop and agree drainage strategies
  • Undertake flood risk assessments and identify effective solutions
  • Design attenuation and pollution control systems
  • Deliver Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) from concept through to implementation
  • Produce detailed drainage designs, specifications, and schedules
  • Share knowledge and add value across all projects
  • Produce technical drawings and reports
  • Support cost estimation and contribute to bids and tenders

What you’ll bring

You are an ambitious and motivated engineer with a passion for developing your technical expertise and progressing towards (or maintaining) Chartered status.

  • Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Chartered status or working towards Chartered membership of a relevant professional body
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Project management experience
  • Proven background in drainage engineering across both local authority and private sector projects
  • Experience in attenuation, SuDS, and public realm schemes
  • Good knowledge of highways, public realm, and civil engineering practices
