Job Description:

Fylde Older Adult Complex Case Consultation Lead – Principal Clinical Psychologist

22.50 hours per week. Based at Lytham Hospital, Warton Street, Lytham, FY8 5EE.

Are you an experienced clinical psychologist with a passion for working with older adults, families & wider services?

Do you enjoy a varied role incorporating direct work, indirect work, consultation, supervision, teaching and training?

Would you like to work alongside colleagues and teams dedicated to providing the best possible service for our older adult clients and families? If so, this job could be for you.

We are seeking a clinical psychologist with experience and enthusiasm in working with older people to join the friendly and supportive community Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team (RITT) on the Fylde Coast. The specific role, Complex Case Consultation Framework lead, involves chairing multi-agency case consultation meetings as part of the Fylde Coast Older Adult Psychology Offer.

RITT provides a variety of approaches to support older people with complex mental health issues, with the aim of reducing the need for hospital admission where possible. A specialist care home liaison service is also provided to nursing and care homes. The role includes direct clinical work as well as providing advice and consultation, with opportunities for service development, supervision of staff and facilitating training.

The successful applicant will be working alongside the Band 8a psychologist and assistant psychologist within the RITT team. The complex case consultation role also involves leading on the consultation model across the Fylde Coast, supporting/supervising colleagues, and contributing to governance and service development.

The post is professionally attached to the local older adult psychology team and wider network, offering a supportive space with a strong commitment to providing quality services for older people in Lancashire and South Cumbria. We also have close links with the local Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training courses.

This is a community-based post and, as such, the ability to travel across the Fylde Coast, including rural areas and those difficult to access via public transport, will be required.
