Base pay range
Automation Test Lead – £75K – Leicester or Bridgend (3 days a week) – Java

About the role
La Fosse is partnering with a global financial services organisation to hire an experienced Automation Test Lead. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leadership role in shaping testing strategy, mentoring QA engineers, and ensuring high-quality software delivery within a fast-paced, modern development environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Java-based automation and a passion for building scalable, maintainable test frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of test automation frameworks across projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to embed quality into the development lifecycle.
- Mentor and guide junior QA team members, promoting best practices in test automation and agile testing.
- Champion a shift-left approach to testing and drive improvements in automation coverage and efficiency.
Key Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Java-based automation frameworks.
- Proven experience in leading QA/automation efforts in agile environments.
- Familiarity with Python is a plus, but not essential.
- Expertise in tools like Selenium, REST-assured, TestNG, or JUnit.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and influence quality-focused decisions.
