About the role
Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) within the Adult Epilepsy Service at GSST, working across Guys Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital, and related outpatient settings.
Responsibilities
- Act as an autonomous practitioner, forming complex clinical decisions, assessments and treatment plans for adult epilepsy patients, including prenatal and obstetric patients.
- Manage the clinical environment, working closely with senior nursing and consultant staff to develop and implement clinical guidance, quality standards and new areas of practice.
- Lead the multidisciplinary team (MDT), providing specialist advice, education and support to nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, and patients/families.
- Engage key stakeholders to influence the development and improvement of practice, patient care and service delivery.
- Conduct and lead clinical audits, service redesign initiatives and evaluation projects to improve outcomes across outpatient and inpatient pathways.
- Collaborate with district consultants, emergency pathways and other hospital services to ensure high quality, integrated care.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with specialist epilepsy nursing experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an epilepsy specialist nurse, or equivalent.
- Band 7 post or above for the past 4 years.
- Demonstrated team leadership, resilience, determination and ability to lead service redesign and practice change.
- Strong communication skills and capability to influence and collaborate across boundaries.
