Group Financial Controller

Overview

Trinity House Group are working exclusively with a dynamic manufacturing organisation in the West Midlands to appoint a Group Financial Controller. This pivotal role will oversee core financial operations, budgeting/forecasting, compliance, and audit, while advancing the broader operational finance strategy and delivering transformational leadership to elevate the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee management accounting, forecasting, budgeting, statutory reporting, audit deliverables, and compliance across the group.
• Present financial reports and business cases with credibility and clarity to Senior Management, including quarterly business reviews and company board meetings.
• Drive performance improvement and commercial partnering, embedding finance into operations to influence decision making and outcomes.
• Identify, implement, and champion best practice process improvements and automation solutions (e.g., ERP enhancements, robotics, analytics).
• Develop and lead a high performing finance team.
• Create an environment characterised by energy, enthusiasm, and collaboration.
• Identify and drive cross functional projects and change initiatives, engaging confidently with operational and senior level stakeholders.
• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with extensive post qualification experience.
• Deep expertise in management accounting, forecasting, controls, and compliance.
• Strategic and commercial mindset, able to translate data into tangible business value.
• Experienced in coaching and inspiring teams.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills who is comfortable presenting to boards and senior executives.
• A forward looking, autonomous problem solver who can lead impactful change.
