Job Title: Product Manager, Quality – Commercial Product
As Product Manager for Quality within Commercial Product, you will play a pivotal role in helping Tesco achieve its ambition to be the UK’s leading full‑line retailer for quality perception by 2028/29. You’ll be part of a team at the forefront of using data, intelligence and AI to help the business make better decisions and take smarter actions, ensuring our products in store consistently meet high quality standards and leave customers happier after every shop. You will own the roadmap for myProduct: Quality, shaping how we deliver increasingly valuable insight and recommendations that support colleagues across head office, depots and stores.
Reporting to the Lead Product Manager, the successful candidate will be passionate about driving forwards the Product’s strategy, roadmap and execution for Quality to have real business impact.

Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and drive the product strategy and execution.
- Engage stakeholders to formulate the vision, strategy and long‑term roadmap, and execute it by managing expectations and dependencies across multiple products and teams.
- Understand key user personas, customers and their pain points.
- Demonstrate all product features to various audiences inside and outside the immediate product team.
- Present vision, roadmap, KPIs and execution plans (release/sprint plans) to stakeholders.
- Document and explain new requirements to engineering using user stories, personas and acceptance tests, breaking complex work or epics into smaller deliverable chunks.
- Steer sprint and release planning sessions to deliver maximum business value with minimum effort.
- Accountable for the performance and adoption of the product, working to increase it.
- Lead discovery work for new products or features, collaborating with UX and engineering to prototype, validate and make data‑driven decisions measured against agreed KPIs.
- Provide leadership and direction to cross‑functional teams on short‑term tasks and near‑term priorities.
- Monitor competitor activity and overseas market trends.
- Drive the acceptance and adoption of ideas and improvements with product and engineering stakeholders.
- Support and coach junior Product Managers and peers.
- Prioritise, coordinate and communicate resolution of live product issues independently.
- Handle conflicting priorities, communicate clearly and drive focus and excellence with a strong, talented team.
- Identify and remove impediments, flag risks or delays with the Lead Product Manager and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Product management best practices and methodologies.
- Proven success managing a complex product and delivering significant value to stakeholders.
- Ownership of a product involving multiple stakeholders and driving strategy and execution.
- Demonstrable understanding of User Research, Design Thinking concepts in product work.
- Knowledge of tools and techniques for backlog prioritisation, managing dependencies and gaining insights from data.
- Broad knowledge of relevant technologies and understanding of software development methodologies and processes.
- A methodical, analytical approach with strong problem‑solving skills and logical decision making.
- Prioritisation techniques to refine and groom the feature backlog regularly.
- Rapid learning attitude to new product areas or domains.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Great presentation and influencing skills.
- Team player who enjoys collaboration with stakeholders.
