We’re supporting a globally recognised PE backed professional services business with a strong UK heritage and a genuinely international footprint. Operating across multiple jurisdictions, the firm is known for technical excellence, long‑standing client relationships and a collaborative partnership culture. They are now seeking an experienced Interim Group Senior Financial Controller to provide stability and leadership through a critical reporting and audit period. This is a high‑impact assignment with direct exposure to senior leadership, offering clear ownership of group reporting and audit delivery within a complex, multi‑entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of monthly and annual group reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timeliness
- Lead the consolidation of multiple international entities, including intercompany eliminations and analytical review
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the year‑end audit process end‑to‑end
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and group accounting policies
- Review key balance sheet areas, challenging judgements and ensuring robust substantiation
- Maintain and strengthen financial controls across the organisation during the interim period
- Provide hands‑on leadership to the group finance team, ensuring continuity and clear priorities
- Partner closely with the CFO and senior stakeholders to support decision‑making and issue resolution
- Coordinate input from regional and functional teams to ensure reporting alignment
- Identify pragmatic improvements to reporting, controls and documentation where appropriate
Skills & Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CAANZ, CA(SA))
- Proven experience in a senior group finance or group reporting role within a multi‑entity environment
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/UK GAAP) with confidence handling complex judgements
- Track record of leading external audits in international PE backed professional services organisations
- Comfortable operating in an interim, hands‑on capacity with a delivery‑focused mindset
- Clear, confident communicator able to engage credibly with senior stakeholders
This is an excellent opportunity that will suit a technically strong interim who enjoys owning complex group consolidations, exercising sound accounting judgement and leading an external audit through to successful completion.
