Managing Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview

Managing Quantity Surveyor responsible for overall commercial responsibility for two major projects in South Wales, with values of approximately £100m and £30m.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the commercial management of multiple large‑scale construction projects.
• Lead, mentor, and manage Senior Quantity Surveyors and wider commercial teams.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Protect and enhance the company’s commercial position across all contracts.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
• Contribute to strategic commercial decisions at a regional level.

Requirements

• Proven experience working for Tier 1 or major main contractors.
• Strong background in general construction (not solely housebuilding).
• Demonstrable experience managing large‑scale, high‑value projects.
• Previous experience in a leadership or managing QS role.
• Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
