We’re seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to join our Finance & Contracts leadership team, based at our Head Office at London Bridge (hybrid working).
At Southeastern, procurement plays a critical role in enabling safe, reliable and sustainable rail services. This role sits at the heart of our business, ensuring compliant, value‑driven procurement across both direct and indirect categories as we continue our journey towards Great British Railways.
What you’ll do
In this role, your purpose is to support the Head of Procurement in delivering UCR compliant procurement activity and sourcing strategy across the organisation, spanning Engineering, Infrastructure, Operations, Commercial, Communications, HR and Finance.
You’ll provide leadership and direction to Procurement Managers and wider team members, embedding robust governance, consistency of approach and adherence to UCR and company policy. Through close collaboration with stakeholders, you’ll strengthen supplier relationships, improve contract performance and ensure procurement activity directly supports operational and business objectives.
You’ll also act as Deputy to the Head of Procurement, representing the function at senior forums, supporting governance approvals, and providing insight and challenge at an executive level when required.
This is a senior role with real influence, balancing commercial judgement, regulatory compliance and stakeholder partnership to deliver value for money outcomes across the business.
The experience you’ll need
To be considered for this role we recommend you demonstrate the below in your application;
- A procurement expert – with a comprehensive understanding of procurement processes, governance, UCR and contract law
- MCIPS qualified (or equivalent professional qualification or transferable degree)
- A supply chain specialist – with experience in supply chain planning, P2P systems and e‑tendering tools
- Contract management expertise – experienced in post‑contract management and driving performance through SLAs
- Stakeholder focused – able to manage and influence at all levels of the organisation
- Commercially aware – applying sound commercial judgement to deliver value and support business outcomes
- An analytical thinker – using data, reporting and insight to solve problems and inform decision‑making
- PA23 exposure (desirable) – experience working within PA23 regulations and procurement governance
