Hemiko are recruiting for a HIU Senior Engineer reporting to the Technical Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering operation and maintenance services across our fleet of heat networks and servicing and repairing HIUs.
We are looking for an experienced engineer with at least 3 years of relevant experience working with HIUs of various brands, who is knowledgeable, reliable, and contributes positively to a safe and supportive working culture.

Key responsibilities
- Work under the direct supervision of the Technical Manager.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance activities in line with company maintenance schedules.
- Servicing HIUs and performing repair works.
- Fault find and repair to HIUs while on the on‑call rota.
- Attend reactive callouts to sites to reinstate heat and resolve HIU failures.
- Take part in an on‑call rota (typically one week in four).
- Review root causes for HIU failure and resolve operational issues.
- Manage site‑based project work and develop scope of works for plant remediation.
- Achieve a high first‑time fix rate.
- Safely isolate equipment before commencing works.
- Act as a brand ambassador and be a specialist in certain model/manufacturer of relevant equipment.
- Proactively recognize H&S improvements and incentives.
- Work autonomously while providing technical support to other team members.
- Maintain clear and concise online work orders and system records.
- Assist with 1‑ and 12‑monthly mechanical PPM checks within plant rooms.
- Conduct in‑house training to develop engineers.
- Assist in preparing commissioning procedures.
Knowledge & Experience
- At least 3 years of experience as a HIU service engineer.
- Part P certification.
- Part G certification.
- Knowledge of heat network energy centres and plantrooms.
- Ability to read technical drawings such as P&IDs and mechanical schematics.
- Basic electrical competency.
- Competence with safe isolation of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Full UK driving licence valid for at least 12 months.

- Base salary: £40,000–£50,000.
