Principal Clinical Psychologist (Community Rehabilitation Team) – Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust. The role supports Community Mental Health Services across Bradford and Craven, focusing on individuals living with complex psychosis.
The successful candidate will provide specialist, evidence‑based psychological assessment and therapy, make autonomous clinical decisions and offer strong clinical and professional leadership. As part of a diverse multidisciplinary team you will contribute to service development, supervision, consultation, teaching and research, shaping high‑quality, trauma‑informed and culturally responsive care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention to adults with complex mental health needs, particularly psychosis.
- Deliver training, supervision and reflective practice to the wider team and supporting staff.
- Develop and supervise clinical practice, including evidence‑based therapies such as CBT, CAT, DBT, solution‑focused therapy, analytical therapy, systemic/family work, etc.
- Lead and participate in research and programme development, including maintaining clinical governance and NICE guidance compliance.
- Contribute to service improvement, drawing on trauma‑informed, anti‑racism and cultural competence frameworks.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Doctorate level training in clinical or applied psychology, accredited by the BPS or equivalent for Chartered status.
- Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC.
- Post‑qualification training in a specialised area (neuropsychology, CBT, CAT, DBT, solution‑focused therapy, analytical therapy, systemic/family work, etc.).
- Leadership training and advanced clinical supervision qualification or equivalent.
- Training in trauma‑informed care and cultural competency.
- Master’s or PG Dip/Cert in Clinical Neuropsychology (preferred).
Experience
- Significant experience in relevant mental health practice, especially with complex psychosis.
- Application of evidence‑based specialist psychological therapies in both individual and group settings.
- Experience leading clinical research programmes and publication in psychological therapy.
- Leadership of clinical and reflective practice, including anti‑racism, power, and health inequality topics.
- Experience within a trauma‑informed framework and innovative clinical practice.
Knowledge
- Clinical knowledge relevant to the pathway of complex psychosis and neuropsychology.
- Capacity to formulate and manage high levels of distress in patients and through supervision.
- Understanding of cultural, racial, gender, neurodiversity and sexuality issues in mental health and therapy.
- Commitment to reducing inequalities and to culturally responsive care.
- Commitment to the ethos of MDT working and clinical service development.

Salary: £57,528 to £77,368 a year (Pro Rata).
