District Nurse Team Leader – Kirkby Lonsdale & Milnthorpe

We are very excited to be looking at appointing an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated Band 7 District Nurse/Team Leader to work across the Lunesdale and Milnthorpe District Nursing teams.

Band 7 District Nurse/Team Leader for Lunesdale and Milnthorpe District Nursing teams. 1 × 37.5 hour post over 5 days per week. Requires flexible working and 24‑hour responsibility for team caseload.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a District Nursing team, taking the lead role and being accountable for performance, quality and clinical effectiveness.
• Handle day‑to‑day overall operational workload, ensuring timely appraisals, mandatory training compliance, sickness management and all related human‑resource activity with support from the Matron, Directorate Manager and HR team.
• Provide high‑standard care to the community, ensuring staff health and wellbeing are equally prioritised.
• Work as part of the Community Nursing Team, developing integrated care and seamless services to deliver patient care to the highest standard.
• Develop and sustain effective relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies, GPs, hospital staff, care staff and community pharmacists, ensuring proper care coordination.
• Manage a small caseload of highly complex patients and collaborate with team staff to ensure high‑quality assessment and treatment.

Work location: Post across Lunesdale and Milnthorpe District Nursing teams, operating from Furness General Hospital (FGH), Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) and various community premises.
