Surgical Key Account Manager – Ophthalmology (Glaucoma)

We are partnering with a global leader in ophthalmology to find a highly skilled Surgical Partner to join their team and take ownership of a dynamic and growing territory in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge surgical devices in a fast-paced, evolving market, and to build long-term relationships with key opinion leaders in the glaucoma space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a territory covering the North West, North East UK, and Scotland, working with both NHS and private accounts.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to increase product adoption, driving sustainable market share growth for innovative glaucoma surgical solutions.
- Provide comprehensive training and support for surgeons on glaucoma drainage surgery techniques and product usage.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with key decision-makers and medical professionals, including surgeons, nurses, and procurement teams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service) to ensure effective execution of projects, market access, and promotional activities.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets while managing financial budgets and reporting tools.
- Identify opportunities for new business development and stay up-to-date with competitor activities and market trends.
Skills & Experience:
- A strong background in surgical sales with proven experience in the operating room.
- A history of top sales performance and a commercial mindset, with the ability to drive product adoption and influence decision-making.
- At least five years of sales experience in a medical or pharmaceutical setting, ideally with exposure to hospital sales or key account management.
- Experience in Ophthalmology is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with medical professionals and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in relationship building, negotiation, and strategic account planning.
- Degree in a health or business-related subject or equivalent qualification (desirable).
