This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and to contribute to our Real Estate Investment Banking business. The J.P. Morgan UK Real Estate business has a leading position in the sector in terms of number of clients, transaction activity and revenue market share. The team covers a large share of the UK listed corporate client base across the entire range of UK Real Estate subsectors as well as a vast array of private / sponsor‑held assets.

Our team is responsible for origination and execution of public and private M&A and capital markets transactions involving corporate and financial sponsor clients in the broad UK and EMEA Real Estate sector. We provide clients with advice on corporate strategy and may also act in a corporate broking role, which involves extensive interaction with our equity research, equity sales team and the C‑suite management teams of the client.

The Senior Associate will play a key player in our business strategy and execution, participating in the full cycle of transactional execution. Duties include preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial models and analysis, preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations. The role requires leadership in the execution function, working with analysts and associates and collaborating closely with senior bankers and other industry and product teams across EMEA and globally.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project coordination, including client communication and coordination of advisory teams externally and within the bank
  • Develop content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A or capital market transactions
  • Conduct detailed Real Estate valuation analysis and other financial analysis, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, LBO analysis and transaction structuring
  • Prepare presentation books, management presentations, board materials, memoranda and other materials for use in corporate finance transactions or strategic client dialogue
  • Conduct daily deal execution and project management and take leadership in supporting client coverage by maintaining regular dialogue with clients and potential clients
  • Interact with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to junior analysts and interns
  • Liaise with J.P. Morgan product teams and global sector teams along with UK equities and research departments

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in an Investment Bank, either in an Industry group and M&A
  • Proficient financial modelling, valuation, analytical and numeric skills, including Real Estate modelling experience
  • Ability to react well to pressure while multitasking on numerous projects
  • Comfortable interacting with clients in a professional and mature manner
  • High level of attention to detail, proactivity and time management
  • Commitment to an inclusive teamwork environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity
