Mobile Multi Skilled Engineer – Mechanical Biased

Hours: 40 hrs | Location: London

Overview

At Mitie, we seek a versatile Mechanical Engineer with a mechanical bias to perform both planned and reactive maintenance on building service plant and equipment, working within shift teams to deliver continuous service.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance across a wide range of building services plant and equipment.
  • Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and complete corrective works efficiently and safely.
  • Monitor, record, and report plant performance, defects, and maintenance activities using the CAFM system.
  • Work collaboratively within a shift team to meet client SLAs and KPIs while maintaining high professional standards.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Mitie Engineering Services policies, health & safety requirements, and safe systems of work.

Required Qualifications

  • Recognised mechanical apprenticeship with City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of three years post‑apprenticeship experience in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of building services systems including HVAC, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, and heating systems.
  • Proven experience delivering PPM and reactive maintenance within commercial or critical environments.
