Job Description:

Our client is seeking an empathetic and community-focused Lived Experience Engagement Officer to join their organisation on a part-time fixed-term basis. This role offers the opportunity to support lived experience representatives within health and social care governance and engagement programmes, ensuring inclusive participation and meaningful involvement in decision‑making processes.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of a national engagement project, supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement of lived experience representatives within a collaborative and person‑centred environment.

This role is based in Glasgow with flexible hybrid working arrangements available.

  • Working Pattern: Part‑time, 21 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of engagement programmes involving lived experience representatives within health and social care settings
  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support of lived experience representatives
  • Help develop role expectations, induction materials, and engagement frameworks
  • Facilitate communication and relationship‑building between stakeholders, representatives, and partner organisations
  • Contribute to co‑production and participation activities to ensure meaningful and inclusive engagement
  • Conduct research, gather feedback, and support data analysis activities
  • Organise meetings, workshops, events, and stakeholder engagement sessions
  • Promote accessible communication and inclusive participation practices
  • Support reporting, documentation, and project coordination activities
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, equality, and organisational policies

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Degree‑level education or equivalent professional experience
  • Excellent networking and relationship‑building skills
  • Experience of partnership working and co‑production approaches
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Understanding of current health and social care agendas and community engagement practices
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive engagement principles
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong organisational, time management, and event coordination skills
  • Understanding of data protection principles and confidentiality requirements
  • Commitment to equality, inclusion, non‑discrimination, and person‑centred approaches

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting lived experience programmes or participation initiatives
  • Experience within health, social care, community development, or third sector organisations
  • Understanding of governance, policy development, or stakeholder engagement frameworks
  • Experience supporting co‑production or citizen participation activities
