Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow

To grow our Infrastructure MEP capability, we are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer with Data Centre experience to join us. Working for UK and international clients, you’ll have the ability to run multiple concurrent medium sized projects and to be a part of the growth of COWI’s Data Centre Design Business in Scandinavia while being at the heart of the development of the COWI UK&I Data Centre Design Team. You’ll undertake a client facing role in the development, design & coordination of infrastructure projects, which could include producing design packages for contractors working on a design & build contract.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Overseeing engineering work related to the design and specification of MV/LV power systems and distribution, including the production of single line diagrams, load schedules, cable calculations, and general arrangements.
  • Overseeing the design of other electrical systems, including fire alarm, security, lighting design, lightning protection, earthing, etc.
  • Supervising the preparation of technical specifications
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, particularly with the BIM team, to prepare design models and drawings.
  • Conducting thorough technical reviews of electrical designs, calculations, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements
  • Ensuring that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • Participating in project meetings, site surveys and inspections.
  • Adhering to all quality and governance processes.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
