Group Financial Controller

The Group Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and control of all Group financial reporting across multiple regulated entities. Reporting to the CFO, this role provides robust financial governance, regulator-ready reporting, and a strong control environment to support decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close across all entities
• Ensure accuracy of GL, intercompany, FX, accruals, and provisions
• Maintain consistent IFRS application and strengthen close processes

Reporting & Audit

• Deliver monthly management accounts and Group reporting packs
• Lead statutory accounts preparation and external audit coordination
• Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality financial reporting outputs

  Controls & Reconciliations

  • Oversee bank, balance sheet, client money, and PSP reconciliations
  • Ensure timely resolution of breaks and control issues
  • Maintain and enhance internal control framework

  Regulatory Reporting (Multi-Entity)

  • Own finance input into all regulatory returns across regulated entities
  • Ensure alignment between regulatory, statutory, and management reporting
  • Act as key finance interface with Compliance and Risk
  • Support regulatory queries on capital, liquidity, and client money

  UK CASS Oversight

  • Provide financial oversight of CASS reconciliations and processes
  • Review finance inputs into CASS reporting and ensure accuracy
  • Support audits, resolve issues, and elevate breaches appropriately
  • Strengthen governance and control framework (in coordination with Compliance)

  Treasury & Cash

  • Oversee daily cash management and payment controls
  • Support liquidity monitoring and treasury operations
  • Escalate funding or segregation issues to CFO

  Budgeting & Team Leadership

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Analyse variances and enforce cost discipline
  • Lead and develop finance teams across Group entities

  Candidate Profile

  Experience

  • Senior Financial Controller or Group Accounting leadership background
  • Multi-entity consolidation experience essential
  • Financial services / regulated environment strongly preferred

  Technical

  • Strong IFRS and statutory reporting expertise
  • Experience in financial close, audit, and controls
  • Understanding of regulatory reporting and CASS desirable
