Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHS Manager) to lead safety compliance and promote a world‑class safety culture across our client’s operations at a brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art distribution facility in Birmingham.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor statutory safety, fire, and environmental regulations across the site.
  • Oversee risk management strategies and support operational teams to achieve zero accidents.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and RTITB accreditation.
  • Develop and revise safety procedures, reporting on performance and recommending improvements.
  • Investigate incidents and dangerous occurrences, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Deliver training programs, including manual handling and safety passport updates.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and report on quality metrics to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to foster a strong safety culture.

Profile

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role.
  • National NEBOSH Certificate and strong knowledge of EHS management systems.
  • Hands‑on and adaptable approach to implementing processes.
  • Self‑starter with proven ability to lead and influence in a fast‑paced operational setting.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving capability.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and warehouse management systems.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites within the UK when required.
  • Background in Logistics Distribution, Supply Chain, or FMCG/Pharmaceuticals.
  • BREEAM accreditation knowledge (desirable).

Job Offer
