The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust welcome applications for a Consultant Neurologist to work cross‑site supporting and expanding the existing team. The successful candidate will join a close team based at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Job responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient services at both hospitals.
• Deliver comprehensive care for ward patients under their team.
• Conduct ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Co‑ordinate prompt discharge planning for neurology patients.
• Assist junior medical staff, neuro nurses, and pharmacists.
• Support the training of junior doctors and medical students, providing supervision on a one‑to‑one basis and ad‑hoc throughout the day.
• Provide service alongside consultant colleagues for prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
• Take an active role in educational programmes, formal teaching sessions, and clinical audits.
• Participate in audit and quality assurance processes, including reviews of manpower requirements.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

• Full GMC registration
• CCT in Neurology – equivalence confirmed by PMET/GMC by interview date
• Entry on GMC Specialist Register or eligibility within 6 months of the Advisory Appointments Committee
• MRCP or equivalent
• Higher degree (PhD or MD)
• Peer‑reviewed research publications

Experience

• Broad experience in Neurology, including Stroke
• Willingness to teach medical, nursing, and other staff
• Experience of audit or clinical research
• Competent in Stroke thrombolysis
• Understanding of the NHS and its organisation

Salary

£109,725 to £145,478 per annum plus LW allowance.
