We are partnering with a rapidly scaling, highly successful independent insurance broker and risk management group. As their expansion accelerates, they are seeking a high-caliber financial leader to take full ownership of the end-to-end control, performance, and regulatory compliance of their Group Finance Operations.
The Role
As the Group Head of Finance Operations, you will provide senior operational leadership and hold ultimate accountability for the CASS 5 control framework within an FCA-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and develop three functional teams (Banking, Finance Operations, and Broking Ledger) with a total headcount of up to 15 professionals.
- CASS 5 & Client Money Oversight: Act as the certified operational owner for client money. Sign off on calculations, bank reconciliations, and segregation processes while managing CASS audits, regulatory submissions, and breach registers.
- Lead pre- and post-acquisition financial assessments to seamlessly onboard newly acquired businesses into the Group’s CASS 5 framework.
- Govern banking operations (400-500 transaction movements monthly) and own the integrity of the broking ledger across 340-400 active insurer accounts.
- Design and execute a robust collection strategy that balances cash flow with excellent client outcomes. Oversee premium finance lender relationships and customer refunds.
- Drive automation and standardization across cash platforms-specifically leveraging Acturis and AutoRek. Deliver high-quality, Board-level insights on financial performance and control effectiveness.
Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience within transactional accounting or financial operations specifically inside the insurance broking sector.
- CASS 5 Mastery: Deep technical knowledge of FCA client money rules, insurer settlements, premiums, and claims.
- Advanced proficiency with core insurance platforms and reconciliation tools (e.g., Acturis, AutoRek, Open GI, Power BI).
- Strong track record operating within an FCA-regulated environment, ideally having supported or held a certified/audited position.
