We are seeking an experienced GP to join our busy, well-supported UCC at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. This is a unique opportunity to practice acute medicine in a fast-paced environment while contributing directly to a charitable mission, as hospital surplus is reinvested into patient care, staff development, and our onsite Hospice.

About the Urgent Care Centre
Our UCC is a walk‑in service managing a wide range of presentations, including:
- Minor injuries and trauma (sprains, lacerations, fractures)
- Acute illness (respiratory, gastrointestinal, infections)
- Paediatric minor illness
- Early emergency presentations requiring stabilisation and onward transfer
Operating hours
- Weekdays: 8am–8pm
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality clinical care in line with hospital and UCC policies
- Assess and manage urgent and acute presentations safely and efficiently
- Lead or support paediatric resuscitation and emergency response when required
- Mentor and support nursing colleagues
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation
- Participate in audits, service improvement projects, and governance initiatives
- Contribute to a culture of patient‑centred care, safety, and continuous learning
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- GP Register
- Experience in General Practice, Urgent Care, Minor Illness, and/or A&E
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to CPD and ongoing professional development
- Excellent communication and patient‑focused approach
- Previous UCC or ED experience
- Strong paediatric experience
- ALS and EPALS certifications
